For over 25 years Bedrock Furniture has been helping customers across Bridgwater and Somerset choose beds, sofas, recliners and furniture for their homes. From the beginning, my focus has always been on friendly service and honest advice, helping people choose the right product for their needs rather than pushing unnecessary upgrades.
To celebrate our 25th year, my dad Malcolm and I sat down together to look back at some of the memories and stories from the last quarter of a century. I originally started the business with my dad, Malcolm, who many people around Bridgwater will remember as “Mr Bedrock.” Dad became well known locally over the years, and together we built the shop around the idea that buying furniture should be a relaxed experience where customers feel comfortable asking questions and getting genuine advice.
A couple of years ago Dad retired, and today I run Bedrock Furniture together with my partner Les. Being a small independent business means customers usually deal with us from the moment they walk into the shop to the day their furniture is delivered, which makes the whole experience much more personal.
Over the years we’ve helped thousands of customers across Bridgwater and the wider Somerset area furnish their homes, whether they’re looking for a new bed, a comfortable sofa, a recliner chair or furniture for a whole room.
One of the nicest things for me is seeing customers come back over the years. Some people first came to us when they were furnishing their first home, and now they’re coming back to help their children choose furniture for theirs.
After 25 years, that kind of trust and support from local customers really means a lot.
